One Last Stop – Pattaya

One last stop for Pat that is. Me? I’ve got months left before I have any semblance of a normal life. But we had just a few more days before Pat needed to head back to the US. We wanted a beach that was rather close to Bangkok because that’s where he would fly out. After a little research we settled on a place called Pattaya. The pics looked good and reviews weren’t bad so we ran on over there. And it was just what we were looking for.

Sand, palm trees, umbrellas and sun after a two week whirlwind of seeing some of the coolest places Cambodia and Thailand had to offer became our saving grace. It was nice to lay around a bit. We popped into our hotel and headed for the beach, which of course, crawled with super cool little creatures that made my heart happy. (Not the best pic but you can catch the drift.)

Apparently everything is smaller here. =P

We grabbed some drinks and snacks and watched the world pass for a while. And giggled at how different people dress at beaches in the US than here. (Don’t zoom too close. You’ll see a booty.)

We relaxed until the sun started to shift to the West.

We chatted about how lucky we were, about him going home, about me staying behind and following more adventures and how beautiful it felt to just sit and snack and drink. I left him at his chair for a bit to wander around and snap some pics. I didn’t do that much while I was here. My trigger finger needed a rest after Angkor Wat. Still, there were beautiful things to see.

Then came the time to head home. We dropped our stuff at the room, showered and got ready. We didn’t have much of a lunch so it was time to get down for dinner. There were some fabulous places to check out near where we were staying. And along the way we ran into a nighttime festival sort of thing. There were some babies getting down!!

Being that I was a preschool teacher in the US I was in heaven. I watched for quite a while.

Those breakdown skills had my heart soaring. It was the perfect wrap up before sending my friend home.
